Formless stack

Formless is two equal products joined by a typed capability boundary.

Click

The browser-delivered workspace. Click renders panels, workspaces, settings, tasks, approvals, and diagnostics with C++/Dear ImGui compiled to WebAssembly.

Host

The authority. Host owns workspaces, policy, plugin lifecycle, storage, secrets, resource admission, causal traces, and authenticated management.

Panels ask for named capabilities. Click verifies that the panel declared the operation and that the user granted it. Host applies authoritative policy, selects a provider, and communicates with an isolated plugin through HPP/2. Neither a panel nor a plugin receives a general-purpose Host credential.

Concept Owned by Meaning
Workspace and layout Host, rendered by Click Synchronized definitions and active panel instances
Panel Click A Canvas, daScript, or trusted ABI v2 visual surface
Capability Host policy + broker A versioned, named operation—not an arbitrary URL or socket
Plugin Host An immutable OCI image reconciled as an owned generation
Scope Host runtime The lifetime that owns effects, sockets, leases, and teardown
Trace Host journal Correlated evidence for lifecycle, policy, calls, and failures
